Everyone knows that we at Solar Electric Texas are the premiere solar installer in Texas. The reality is though, many of our solar counterparts, either the re-sellers or the installers, or even the Do It Yourself people, can make significant mistakes that can cost you immediately or over time. So we thought we would make a point of a few, in hopes it makes you avoid solar install problems and saves you time and aggravation in the long run!
Look for Quality Over Low Price
You get what you pay for, has never rang more true than in the solar power market.
There are many parts in the solar installation process that can wear and break regularly if made of sub par parts. It’s important to look at products like inverters and ask your solar installer what their warranty covers.
Pay Attention to Where the Panels are being Placed
This may sound like a no brainer, but paying attention to shade issues will help with overall productivity of your solar panels and help you avoid solar install problems.
Do a visual check prior to your install. Let the installer know where the maximum (hourly) amount of sunlight occurs. Some installers will install the panels in the most convenient spot for them, not the customers overall performance.
Only Get Quotes from Local and Trusted Installers
Once again, sounds obvious, but trust us, there are hundreds of “nationwide” installers which are merely advertisers posing as knowledgeable solar installers, who take your money and then have a local “installer”, who only installs, and knows little to nothing about solar in general, install your panels. Rarely, in this case are you getting the best system for your home. You are most of the time getting the cheapest (quality).
There are plenty of other things to look for prior to you installing your solar panels. Always call a local reputable dealer first-(210) 802-4222
