Heat Your Swimming Pool
There’s nothing like having your own backyard swimming pool. Having lived in Texas and Arizona, We can tell you, no matter what anyone says, water stays cold, sometimes very cold year round. The actuality is the average water temperature doesn’t really increase that much in the summer, air temperatures and other conditions affect water temperatures as well. Your best bet is either a solar blanket, or what many homeowners do, and add a solar powered water line to your pull. The panels take the heat and the water is run through the heated coils and back into your pool. this is very affordable versus the old conventional operation of running your pool pump lines through your hot water heater, thus limiting the amount of water available to your home (depending on water pump build out) or increasing other cost overall.
Heat The Water In Your Home
Conventional water heaters work great but use quite a bit of energy when heating your home water. Sometimes 20-30 percent more. You may want to look at tanks that are solar powered to save money over time. The average 20 year old home is due for a hot water tank replacement, that may be a good time to review your options in heating your water moving forward. Just remember there is additional cost above the solar panels themselves.
